I love to cook, so I have been looking for a frying pan that conducted heat evenly throughout the entire pan (I use gas) and be large enough. I tried all kinds, but I have always been limited to using the middle of the pan as the sides are not directly under the fire. A friend of mine suggested I use a stone frying pan and I tried this Stone Earth Frying Pan. Not only it solved my issue (the heat is very even across the entire pan), but it also is non stick and looks quite different from the regular teflon pans.Since receiving it (and since I am not leaving my house due to the Covid 19), I have used it multiple times a day. Whether it is for baking bread (special way I know) or to cook fish or meats, I succeeded. No more overcooked center or under-cooked sides.Finally, cleaning is quite easy. I pour water, a bit of soap, and I am done. Nothing has stuck to the pan yet…

UPDATE: The company reached out to me, apologized for my experience, and sent me a new pan. I’ve only had it for a few days, but so far so good. I updated the ‘stars’, since I was impressed by this level of costumer service. I am hopeful that I’ll have better luck with pan.At first, I loved this pan. It was super non-stick and easy to clean. But after a few months, the coating started to flake off. The edges of the bottom of the pan now have a rough texture. I took very good care of it. I handwashed it only with non-abrasive cleaners and never used it on high heat. I’m very frustrated that after only 5 months, I have to throw it out.

No scratches. No oils or butter. Nothing sticks. I have not gone above medium heat and hand wash with gentle detergent and soft surface. The lack of anything sticking to it ensures that I care for it exactly as prescribed because I want it to KEEP being perfect.

I like this pan. The handle is comfortable to hold, cooks eggs easily. I have used it to cook other things as well, and it distributes heat evenly, and it is non-stick. I have asked my husband not to use metal on the pan, but he does anyway and it is holding up to this misuse. There is a misnomer that this is German made, my pan says “Made in China”. Maybe the Germans in Solingen designed the pan, but they don’t make the pan and that was my number one reason for buying “Made in Germany”. I like that it is APEO & PFOA-Free, we have birds in the house and always worry about what might hurt them and want to keep them safe. Overall it is a good pan, just not made in Germany (reduction of a star for incorrect advertising).
