I usually mix my own, minus salt, in big batches but wasn’t looking to have to restock a bunch of spices just yet and it had slipped my mind that premixes are usually also presalted. My fault, so still 5 stars. With 315 mg sodium per cup of seasoning that’s not too bad so I’ll just have to mix a little down with straight spices but the flavor is great as is for those that don’t need to limit their sodium. The value is very good as well, but because of the above will be a one time purchase for me.

This stuff is my secret recipe. I usually make big pots of chilli so instead of going through 2 pouches I just buy a big container. Of course I add a few extra items but this is the perfect base flavor.

Ive made chili with this many times and everyone ALWAYS asks for my recipe. I love this container specifically because you can add the exact amount you need. You can also use the mix in other foods… Tacos need a little more flavor? Sprinkle some on! Ive also mixed this with BBQ and coated it on chicken wings. So handy!

We were tired of using the little packets that never had quite enough seasoning in them. With the McCormick’s 22 oz container, we can adjust the amount of seasoning to the amount of ingredients we use. We make chili regularly and with this seasoning it is super simple. We simply throw cooked ground beef, 2 cans of Brooks chili beans, a can of petite diced tomatoes, a can of tomato sauce, and this seasoning and we are good to go! It couldn’t be any easier. If we are feeling crazy we’ll have our chili on top of angel hair pasta just to push the boundaries. While it is best to have chili when it is chili, we have it year round!

Probably not perfect.Look, I’m no chili connoisseur, but I’ve been making chili using nothing but beef, beans, tomatoes and this chili seasoning mix. Well, and a lot of simmering! 🙂 And it tastes terrific! Not a lot of heat so if you want that you’ll have to add it. Thickens nicely if you’re careful with the water and watch it while it’s on the stove.Almost foolproof!Seriously, I really like this stuff and wouldn’t like to run out of it.I’ll be buying more when this runs out!Oh, and their recipe can be found on some of their packages and on their website.
