This device is ideal for our needs (we live in an apartment). This gadget saves space AND time, especially because we have a small stove and can barely make more than two things at a time. Any reservations I had about this remarkable small device have been dispelled, since it performs admirably. It creates wonderful pasta (of any kind) and I’m sure it’ll work with a variety of other noodle types as well. Would absolutely recommend to anyone searching for a quick and easy way to prepare pasta without having to dedicate a pan and a chunk of their time to it. Put it in the microwave, and when it’s done, strain it and you’re done!

I was certain I would return this when I first saw it when it arrived. It didn’t appear to be worth the money I paid for it. I was also expecting it to boil over. I didn’t notice anything different from other pasta-making containers I’d tried. The only thing you need to cook pasta in is a bowl. The remaining two components aren’t used at all. I also assumed that all of my pasta would clump together. That’s what happens when you don’t cook your pasta before putting it in tap water. What a pleasant surprise. The times mentioned, like all microwave instructions, are at best estimates. From start to finish, it took me 12 minutes to make pasta for two people. There will be no spillage. I’ve used it a few times already, and it’s staying put.

I would recommend this product to others. As of now, I use it about once a week. I typically make a pound of pasta (the entire box). Thus far I haven’t tried any stringed pastas or lasagna, but spirals, shells, rigatoni, penne and the like have come out just fine.
On a side note, the first few times I used this I made the mistake of keeping the lid on during cooking. The pasta cooked fine, but there was water all over the inside of the microwave. My mistake and mine alone. The lid slides on after cooking and the pasta drains without a problem. Also, I use a small size microwave and the boat fits into it just fine.

My pasta boat sadly developed a crack after two years or so of regular use, so I came back for another one. I’m pretty sure that was my fault from transferring it hot and cold liquids into it too fast. This may seem like an unnecessary gadget but I love that I can just plug in the amount of time into the microwave and walk away, not having to babysit the stove or worry about overcooking or overflowing liquids. It makes pasta that is just as good as if it were boiled on the stove. Cleanup is also easier than cleaning a big pot. If you need large portions this may not be for you but for spaghetti, macaroni, or noodles for two people it’s perfect.

This is my second Pasta Boat. Bought the first one when my range stopped working and I only had my microwave to cook in. I can’t believe how much I like it. I make thin spaghetti with it all the time.
Don’t forget – when you’re cooking pasta, DON’T PUT THE LID ON WHILE COOKING!!! (otherwise, you’ll get boil-over). Use the lid for draining the water AFTER cooking.
Haven’t used it for any other food yet, but I’d like to try some of the recipes for steaming veggies and fruit.

This thing is great! I will not use a regular pot for cooking pasta any more. I just stick my pasta in the boat and pop in the microwave at the beginning of cooking my meal – and I can focus on the rest of the dinner I am preparing without watching a pot of pasta. Frees up one extra burner of my stove for every meal I use it. I don’t have to worry about a pot boiling over. I occasionally use this for different vegetables as well – it makes a nice steamer for veggies.

I was skeptical at first but after using this for several weeks I love it. No its not high end cookware but it works . I use it mainly for pasta. Spaghetti and elbow noodles are cooked just right and I don’t heat the kitchen up while cooking them. would recommend init to everyone if just for those application. I have not done any other steaming but if the way it cooks pasta is any indication I feel confident it will do those as well.

Love this pasta maker. Better than in a pot, I was not sure as I always cooked my pasta in a large pot. Tried it once and never went back to the pot.

Makes pasta perfect.. and I cooked some chicken in it, and it works! I don’t know if that’s recommended, but all the grease goes to the bottom, through the rack. The chicken taste great too. All in the Microwave and easy to clean. Pasta and chicken, Yummy!

I wanted an easy way to cook a limited quantity of pasta for one person. Works for me, but I have not tried more than a few ounces of dried pasta. Great to be able to hit the microwave button and walk away, and so easy to put both parts in the dishwasher.

It arrived very quickly, which was nice. It’s perfect for making pasta in the microwave. Works just the way the product description says. I was skeptical, because most things don’t turn out that way.
I wrote the above not long after I received this, and it does still work well… but I no longer see the point of it. It doesn’t cook pasta in the microwave any faster than cooking it on the stove top, so I rarely use it anymore.

While it’s true that it is not a quick method of making pasta, I was looking for something that i could just leave to cook on its own and didn’t need to continue to stir. This is just that. I like my pasta on the al-dente side, and I have not had any issues with under or over cooked pasta when using the instructions. I do find it a small nuisance to have to look up directions for cooking all different types and quantitities of pasta, but hopefully will get used to the instructions for what i make the most! Overall, it works for what I needed. I could put it in, give my kids a bath, and it’s ready when the bath is done! Can’t say that about pasta cooked on the stove…

Product Super resistant microwave. Used for pasta, asparagus, vegetables vapors. Very practical cover just like handles which one can remove for storage.
