Wow, this flavor is fantastic! I wasn’t sure I needed it but the price was low enough that I was ok trying it. I’ve put it in chana masala and lentil dishes, and used it in curry dishes to replace lemon when it’s called for, and it all tastes so much better. It’s the secret something I’ve been missing. The container came sealed well so nothing would spill and it arrived quicker than I expected. I definitely recommend it!

Because of the pandemic and my local Indian Restaurant does not deliver, I can’t get my favorite dish — two samosas. I love their samosas and have liked samosas ever since first trying Indian food in NY’s Greenwich Villagein the past century. I found an exquisite and detailed recipe online and gave it a go. I had to buy a lot of spices I never heard of before. This was one of them. The exquisite fragrance of this spice makes me want to wear it.By scent alone I understood its role in the array of spices. This was so good, that it was hard not to eat the filling before stuffing and forming the pockets. I’m trying to think of other ways to use it — other dishes to include it in, for that complex mango note. O and now I like my samosas better than the ones from the restaurant.

While I do not have a lot of experience with Indian food I am very pleased with my purchases from this company. I have purchased the Fenugreek Seeds, Garam Masala, Amchur, Asafetida and Curry Powder. My husband has people come from India for training where he works. I like to try to make a few meals for them while they are here. They are either really polite or the meals are really good – they have raved about everything so far. I have also really enjoyed everything I have made so far. Everything has such an amazing aroma when it is cooking, it is impossible to not be starving by the time the food is ready!

So happy Amazon has this hard to find spice. I use this for my Indian dishes, and we eat quite a few Indian meals a week! Amchoor is a predominant flavoring agent in north Indian dishes, where it is used to add a sour tangy fruity flavor without moisture. I use it to flavor samosa and pakora fillings, stews and soups, fruit salads and pastries, curries, chutneys, pickles and dals and to tenderize meats, poultry, and fish.

I discovered this product several years ago and use it quite a bit, though this is the first time I’ve used this brand. I like the flavor, slightly fruity and a little tangy. It is neither salty or sweet. Although I use it for a few recipes, the main reason I buy it is for grilled corn on the cob. Grill them with the husk on and then squeeze/rub a lime wedge on the corn and sprinkle with the mango powder. It’s a fresh departure from the standard butter/salt/pepper summertime corn on the cob. Even my teenagers love it.
