Perfect for soup. This sturdy cooking container is made out of heat-resistant plastic. That is the main feature that differentiate this container from the regular plastic lunch containers. Yes, you can heat your soup in your normal plastic lunch container, but you will notice that the plastic will become soft. Let me confess that I have never had any of my lunch containers soften to the point of melting in the microwave. Even so, I feel uneasy when I take out the container from the microwave and find that the plastic has softened. This Sistema container is different. It is made out of heat resistant plastic. Even when the liquid inside is very hot, it does not soften. I have used this bowl to make Ramen noodles and the plastic stayed hard.I am a fan of the Rubbermaid Lunchblox series. The Lunchblox are my go-to containers for cold foods. I carry hot foods, like soup, in stainless steel Thermos containers. There are times when I need to pack food that will need to be heated prior to eating. Foods like Ramen noodles and chili. And those situations call for a container that can be used inside the microwave. Most plastics will go soft. But this Sistema will not. You can use this to make soup in your microwave at work. It is also less likely to show stains from tomato based foods and sauces. Most plastic containers will stain if you use them to carry tomato sauce. This one is opaque. If it stains, you will not see it.Important. Please keep in mind that this container is not spill-resistant. You will not find a rubber gasket on the lid. This is not a CARRYING container. It is a COOKING/HEATING container. If you want soup, you will need to carry it in a separate liquid-proof container. Transfer the soup to this bowl prior to heating. Heat and enjoy. This is what I do for soups. I carry the soup in its original, unopened container. When lunch time comes, I empty the soup into this bowl and heat on the microwave. Please do not use this Sistema bowl as a carrying container. It will leak. Think of it as a portable cooking pot.Highly recommended, but please use it for its intended purpose.

My husband has MSA and suffers from lack of balance and shakes. This makes it hard for him warm up food in the microwave without spilling and hurting himself. Apart from the frustration this causes, it takes away that little bit of independence he is left with. These bowls being BPA free, are the perfect solution. I have been using these for a couple of weeks and I am so happy with them. They are extremely well made with lids that fit easily and lock securely. They are easy to clean in the dishwasher. The shape of the handles make it safe when carrying hot food. I ordered some more for my daughters to carry lunch to work.

I love this item so much, I got 2 of them. I love the idea that the lid locks on to the bowl & you can use it in the microwave. They’re just so easy to clean. I saw a review that pointed out that they sometimes leak on the sides. This is true, they do leak, but you’ll notice that the lids don’t come with that rubber seal around the seams like some of their other products they sell for soups & other liquids. These bowls are good for pasta meals. Which is what I use them for & love about. If you make a lot of soups, don’t use this product. It’s not made for that. Try their mugs which come with the rubber on the lids to prevent leaks.

I have used these for 5 + years. I only cook raw unprocessed vegetables in them. Carrots, broccoli, Sweet potatoes, Squash , bushel sprouts, and green beans mostly. Systema is quick and easy to use. You need to practice on your vegetables and practice on what size you cut them down to so that you can adjust the cooking time. And mostly just leaving the water on the veggies after you wash them and shake them a little is enough water to steam them. I am about to reorder them even though they show no wear and tear. They are plastic and I use 2 of the small ones at least 3x day every day. That is an awful huge amount of use. I will verify again no BPA and no Phaletes(spell) before I buy.My only disappointment is no reviews (just one) for 2019. has something changed.

Great in microwave for soup, veggies, oatmeal etc. Has latches to secure lid and a vent to let steam out. Good design of item. Would not dishwash as cleaner gets on the plastic and very tough to get off. I would hand wash this but also I would recommend . Very good for storage too with the latches.
