- Mix the orange juice, olive oil, cilantro, lime juice, lemon juice, white wine vinegar, cumin, salt, black pepper, jalapeno, and garlic together in a large mixing bowl and whisk until well blended.
- Save ⅓ cup of the marinade in a covered container in the refrigerator.
- Place the remaining marinade and steak in a large resealable freezer bag. Marinate the steak for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
- Set your grill to high heat, or 500 degrees. Carne Asada should be cooked on high heat if you are cooking it on the stove. Before you start cooking the meat, make sure the grill pan or skillet is hot.
- Pat the steak dry after removing it from the marinade. Any leftover marinade should be discarded.
- Cook the steaks for six to eight minutes per side in the preheated grill until they’re done to your liking. Because flank steak is a lean cut of meat, it tastes best when it’s cooked to rare or medium-rare. Check the temperature of your meat with a meat thermometer that is instant read.
- Let the steak rest for 10 minutes after removing it from the heat. Resting the steak is very important!
