There are so many kitchen appliances available these days that they can take over your kitchen, and it might become difficult to find space on your counter after a while. Design
In terms of drip coffee makers, the Black and Decker 5-Cup Coffee maker is one of the smallest on the market. With dimensions of 7.25 x 8.2 x 10.75 inches, this coffee machine takes up little counter space for a more organized kitchen. It will fit easily next to your other kitchen appliances.
Black + Decker’s 5-Cup Coffeemaker is simple, but still stylish in terms of aesthetics. The majority of it is plastic, which isn’t ideal, but it still looks nice overall with its all-black design. A coffee basket is located on top of the machine, and a water tank is next to it. You can find the glass carafe under the filter basket, and there is only one on/off switch at the base.
The coffee maker also comes with a warming plate and a cord storage compartment (located on the back of the machine). One of my favorite features of this coffee maker was the cord storage. It made the unit even easier to store when not in use.
Setup Process
For the first time, I found it easy to set up the Black and Decker 5-Cup Coffeemaker. Each removable part of the carafe, the lid, and the permanent filter were thoroughly cleaned. It is recommended to run the machine through a full cycle without any coffee grounds after cleaning it. Once the water has been disposed of, the machine can be used normally. My experience took me no more than 10 minutes, and I found the process to be straightforward.
This machine works similarly to any drip coffee maker. The coffee grounds should be placed in the permanent filter (or paper filter, if desired) and the filter inside the filter basket. The next step is to fill the water tank with the desired amount of water and turn on the machine. The coffee machine will take care of the rest, so that you can go about your morning routine.
Performance
Despite its small size and simplistic design, the Black and Decker 5-Cup Coffeemaker produces a good cup of coffee. Although I didn’t expect much from it considering its low price, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it makes excellent drip coffee. The temperature of the brewed coffee is another great feature: It is neither too hot nor too cold, which is sometimes characteristic of low-priced coffee makers.
Additionally, it brews coffee fairly fast, being able to brew five to six cups in five to six minutes. There is also a warming plate that keeps your brew warm. A pause feature allows the user to sneak a cup of coffee before the brewing cycle is complete. As soon as the carafe is placed back on the base, the brewing cycle will resume automatically.
There is one downside to this machine, which is that it does not turn off automatically, so I had to turn it off before leaving the house for the day. Otherwise, it can waste a lot of energy.
Ease of Cleaning
In contrast to more difficult coffee maker cleaning tasks in the past, this coffee maker is easy to maintain since all the parts can be cleaned in the dishwasher (top rack only). After each use, I emptied the brew basket of the grounds and put the filter, carafe, and lid in the dishwasher. Also, I wiped the warming plate with a wet cloth. There were no areas of this coffee maker that were particularly challenging to clean, and the entire process took just five minutes.

Price
With a retail price of just $25, the Black and Decker 5-Cup Coffeemaker is a highly affordable coffee maker. The fact that it makes good drip coffee and is compact and storable makes this little guy an absolute steal.
