This scrambled egg patty recipe will quickly become…

…your go-to breakfast sandwich. A meat, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich…

…is unrivaled in our opinion. We’ll probably alternate…

…between bagels and English muffins.

We also have a hard time deciding between bacon and sausage cravings…

But there is one thing we sure about…

The scrambled egg patty, on the other hand, is a constant…

It’s fluffy, juicy, and just the right shape to go with the bread!

Our fondness for scrambled egg patties stems from the fact…

…that they’re ubiquitous in Disney parks and resorts.

So, what makes egg patties so popular at our favorite fast food joints?

Portability. Wraps and sandwiches with scrambled eggs…

…are prone to tumbling out. Scrambled eggs pattiy….

….on the other hand, are delicious and stay put.

We were surprised to find very little information on how…

…to make a round scrambled egg patty while researching…

…how to make our Morning Ronto Wrap copycat recipe.

We couldn’t find egg patty in grocery stores, even though restaurants…

…can buy them in bulk. We tried making one on the stovetop…

…even in a ring mold, but flipping it without breaking it is difficult…

…and one side usually burns. As a result, we set out to develop…

…a simple scrambled egg patty recipe!

Let’s hear Jess’ story…

My kids favorite breakfast is sandwiched with scrambled eggs…

But I hate it, not because it doesn’t taste good. But scrambled egg…

in my opinion, makes a big mess. Then I find and idea to make…

egg scrambled patty and it helps. We have a clean and peaceful breakfast now.

Whole eggs are among the most nutritious foods on the planet, containing a little bit of almost every nutrient you need. Omega-3 enriched and/or pastured eggs are even healthier.

So How Do You Make a Scrambled Egg Patty?

Following some egg-related research, we discovered that…

…the perfect scrambled egg is made with water (not milk)…

and a pinch of baking powder for fluffiness. Getting the right ratio…

…took a few tries. Because we used too much water, our first egg patty…

…was quite juicy and had a lot of air bubbles (thanks to too much baking powder).

We finally came up with a scrambled egg patty…

…recipe that we’re excited to share! Your scrambled egg patties…

…will have the perfect circular shape if you use an oven-safe dish.

Please use glass or ceramic baking dishes when choosing a dish to bake in…

The bottom of the egg patty will brown if you use metal bakeware….

Finding several sizes of flat-bottomed bowls with varying diameters…

…in our dish collection was a lot of fun. Pyrex glass storage containers…

…as well as CorningWare stoneware ramekins and casseroles were tried..

BOTTOM of the dish, not the diameter of the top. Remember that…

…if you use porcelain, the cooking time may be reduced by a few minutes.

Because different sized pans hold different amounts of scrambled egg mixture…

…the table in the recipe card below is essential. This table shows…

…how much egg, water, and baking powder you’ll need…

…as well as how long you should bake it for. Please don’t add more egg…

…than the recipe calls for, or the pan will overflow!

Use the right pan and the best pan for cooking eggs

Each egg patty is fairly thin, measuring about 1/4 inch thick on average…

Here is the recipe…

Egg Patty Recipe

INGREDIENTS

This recipe yields 1 egg patty. Please see the table in “Notes” section below for the amount of ingredients to use. This varies based on egg patty diameter. Egg patty will be about 1/4 inch thick regardless of diameter.

Large egg(s)

Water

Baking powder

Pam canola oil cooking spray

Salt and pepper, to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Choose a round, oven-safe glass or ceramic bowl with a flat bottom. This diameter of the flat, bottom part of the bowl will be the size of the egg patty.
  • Spray the round, oven-safe glass or ceramic dish with cooking spray. Note: Do not use metal bakeware.
  • Use the table below in “Notes” to find the corresponding number of eggs, water, and baking powder required based on the size of the egg patty.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the water and baking powder.
  • Add the egg and whisk vigorously until the mixture is fully combined and nice and even in color. This takes about a minute. You should no longer see any clear clumps (egg white).
  • Pour the scrambled egg mixture into the greased, round, oven-safe glass or ceramic dish. Refrain from adding more egg than recommended as the egg will start to crawl up the sides of the pan.
  • See the table in the “Notes” section below for suggested baking time. Use this time as a guide only, as cook time varies widely based on the type of dish used. We recommend peeking at the egg a couple minutes early, then checking on the egg every minute until done. The egg is done when the center of the egg is set/dry to the touch. Note: we found porcelain bakes faster than glass and stoneware.
  • Season egg patty with salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Enjoy!

Hey, you need a great oven, don’t you?

Can I Freeze These?

It is absolutely possible to freeze these. Our family used to always buy…

…frozen breakfast sandwiches, so these Sausage Egg patty freeze just like those.

Wrap each in parchment paper or tinfoil, and place in a ziptop bag…

…they should stay good for about 1 month. You can reheat by wrapping…

…in a paper towel and placing in the microwave for about 1 minute…

…then heating for about 60 seconds. I like to make a lot at once because…

…we like to have them around whenever we want something quick ]…

…for breakfast. The boys especially enjoy heating them up.

How to Reheat Egg Patties?

As soon as the egg patties are baked, they can be cooled…

…and frozen or refrigerated. The egg patties should be microwaved…

…covered for 30 seconds until they are hot again. When defrosting them…

…from frozen, place them in a microwave oven…

…under cover for about one minute.

Microwave thawed egg patties covered for 30 seconds or until hot.

You can microwave covered until hot by thawing overnight…

…or on defrost mode in the microwave.

Reheat frozen sandwiches in the following manner…

Wrap Sandwich is a paper towel and microwave on defrost mode…

…for 1 minute and 30 seconds, flipping once halfway through.

Microwave sandwich on HIGH for 55 seconds or until hot. If necessary…

…add an additional 10 seconds. Let sandwich sit for 1 minute.

Looking for a great microwave? Here’s what I recommend you!

Sum Up

The best way to make an egg patty is by using an egg ring…

Silicone or non-stick coatings are used to shape eggs as they cook…

In order to make multiple egg patties, you should bake the eggs…

…in a whoopie pie pan or muffin top pan.
