Note that one had to draw the blade towards oneself…
…leaving the sharp end trailing. As a result, the leather will be sliced.
The chisel was now several orders of magnitude sharper…
…and it had no trouble taking fine shavings in this horrible wood:
Based on comparing the two pastes, the conclusion is…
…that they produced almost identical cuts.
While cutting the green compound, the chisel seemed to cut…
…slightly easier and leave a smoother surface.
It felt smooth when stropping, while the diamond paste felt “gritty”…
…but this may be due to the rougher leather (though I did not detect any roughness).
Both systems should work, in my opinion….
Using a diamond paste strop should improve my performance…
…as more diamonds build up in the leather over time.
