First thing in the morning, nothing beats a good cup of coffee. It is possible, however, to run into situations where we cannot grind our beans. Perhaps our grinder broke down. Now we have to wonder, can an immersion blender grind coffee beans? You might be wondering that, so let’s find out!

An immersion blender can be used to grind coffee beans. The type of grind will vary, of course. An immersion blender’s strength is what determines how strong it is. You can still use this method if you attach the chopper attachment to your wand. Grind some coffee beans in the chopping bowl. We also have compiled a guide that will help you choose Cuisinart Smart Stick, if you are looking for the best immersion blender.

Is It Possible To Grind Coffee Beans With A Hand Blender?

Immersion blenders are also known as hand blenders, wander blenders, and stick blenders. With this tool, you can grind coffee beans! You will get different results, however. Hand blenders are not all the same. Some grinders have more power, so they can grind finer.

How Do You Grind Coffee Beans With An Immersion Blender?

Attaching the chopper attachment to the grinder is the first step in grinding the coffee beans. There will be a mechanism to lock your hand blender into place depending on its model. Snap it into place. We will then move on to the next step.

The Chopping Bowl

You must choose a narrow container for your chopping bowl before we proceed. You do not have to use the attachment that came with your blender. You can use a cup, bowl, etc. The narrow container prevents the coffee beans from spilling over during the process.

You will also need to provide cover for whatever you use in the absence of an immersion wand container. The cover can be as simple as your hand. Once you have selected your chopping area, it is time to add the beans.

Coffee Beans

Place the coffee beans in the chopping area. To make an average cup of coffee, you need two tablespoons of ground coffee. This means you need two tablespoons of coffee beans to grind. If you’re wondering if they measure the same in volume, some users say they do!

It does not matter how strong you want your coffee to be, you can adjust accordingly. Once you have decided how much you want, close the container in which you are grinding the beans.

Grinding

You can now turn on your hand blender. When using a container without a cover, you should use your hand or surround the top to prevent spills. Shake the container a few times and continue grinding.

You can get different results depending on the power of your hand blender. Immersion blenders are not all the same, as mentioned before. Typically, they are used for soft foods. Thus, you will need to invest between 150 and 250 watts of power for your immersion blender. This may or may not be enough to grind beans into a fine texture.

Bringing it back, depending on how strong your immersion blender is, you will need to grind for about 10 seconds in order to get coarse coffee beans. You will need to grind for a longer period of time if you desire a finer grind. It will take some experimentation to get the type of ground you want.

Clean Up

There’s nothing worse for machines than not cleaning them! Put your ground coffee in the coffee maker once you finish grinding it. As directed in your immersion blender’s user manual, rinse the blade and the bowl. Before storing the bowl and components, dry them thoroughly.
