How To Clean Hamilton Beach Electric Kettle Rust

You can choose to use vinegar or lemon juice to clean your kettle:

Regular Cleaning

Rust removal is easy if you clean your kettle regularly. You can use soap or detergent to remove rust. Rinse your kettle thoroughly with hot soapy solution and let it dry out for a few days.

You can use abrasive scrubbers if your kettle has enamel or stainless steel finish. Scrubbers won’t damage the finish. However, you should be careful when using them because they might scratch the surface.

Add Vinegar

Vinegar is an excellent option to remove scale or rust stains from kettles. White vinegar works better than any other type of vinegar. Avoid flavored vinegars as they may be too strong for the kettle. To use vinegar solution, maintain these steps:

  • Step 1: Fill up the kettle with vinegar until the maximum fill level. Allow it to sit for a few hours. This is a chemical reaction. So wait patiently for 2-3 hrs. Don’t stir or scrub with anything because in this case, it won’t bring additional benefits.
  • Step 2: Switch on your kettle and bring the water to a boil. Allow the water to swirl inside for about three to four minutes. This will help to agitate the tiny particles in the water and break them free from your kettle.
  • Step 3: Pour out the vinegar. Be very careful because it is going be hot for sure. Rinse the kettle later using clean water. If you still find some spots of rust after completing the above step, repeat it again until you find your kettles free of rust.

Add Baking Soda

Add baking soda to your boiling water to make sure it doesn’t burn or stick to the bottom of the pot.

Pour the solution into the kettle and let it sit for 20 minutes. Rinse the inside of the kettle with clean cold water after that.

Add Lemon

Don’t have both vinegar and baking soda in your kitchen. You can use lemon instead! Lemon water solution is made by mixing a spoon of lemon juice into water. Pour it into the electric kettle.

Boil the mixture for around 20 minutes. Then pour out the leftover water and wash the kettle with fresh water before using it again.

Use Commercial Products

You should always use the right cleaning product for each tool. Some cleaners may damage other parts of your equipment. Always read the instructions carefully before using them. You should also allow the cleaner to boil in your kettle for some time before rinsing your kettle with cold water.
