What is Mango Tea?
Mango tea is a delicious, exotic tea made from the leaves….
…of a mango tree. While there are hundreds of kinds of mango, all of them belong to the species Mangifera. Mango tea is a popular beverage throughout Asia, Southeast Asia, and portions of the Indian subcontinent since some people in these developing nations struggle to get adequate nutrients from their diet. Mango tea contains a high concentration of minerals, antioxidants, and vitamins that are essential for the health of indigenous and isolated communities.
Mango tea has grown in popularity as a result of the recent focus on mango as a superfood fruit rich with unique antioxidants and giving various health advantages. Fortunately, many of the promises about what this tea can accomplish have come true, and it is becoming increasingly popular in the natural health world. On a hot summer day, mango tea is the perfect cooling drink!
What Is Mango?
It means the fruit of a tree that grows in tropical countries. It has many health benefits and can be used to make several types of beverages, including tea. The most common type of mango found in grocery stores today are Indian Mangoes. They have small fruits with thin skin and yellow flesh. There are also other varieties of mangos like Alphonso or Keitt which are larger than an Indian mango but still smaller than a large American mango.
How Do You Prepare Mango Tea?
You should use fresh ripe mangoes when making your own mango tea. You will want to choose those that feel heavy for their size. If they seem too light then they probably aren’t ripe yet. When choosing the best ones, look at how soft they are. Also, check if any spots appear on the surface. These are signs that they may not be fully ripened. Once you find one that feels good, cut off the top and bottom so that only the middle remains intact. Then peel away the outer layer using a vegetable peeler until you reach the juicy pulp inside. Now get rid of the seeds by slicing into each side of the seed cavity. This way you won’t end up with bitter tasting tea after you brew it. Finally, chop up the pieces of mango and place them in a pot along with water. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Cover the pot and let simmer for about 10 minutes before removing the lid. Allow it to cool down completely before serving. That’s pretty much it!
