Is your coffee tasting strange…
…even though you are doing everything right?
Maybe you need to clean metal coffee filters….
If your coffee filters aren’t clean enough, it could be possible…
…that you don’t clean them well. It is wise to ensure…
…your coffee filters are thoroughly cleaned…
…and I’m going to teach you how to do it in a flash.
Let’s hear Tom’s story…
I really love coffee, but not an extreme consumer. I only drink it once a day,..
…one day I got a stomachache. At first I thought it was because I drink coffee too much..
…but I don’t drink coffee that much. Then my friend said it is probably because…
…I never clean metal coffee filters I use before. Now I clean it…
….regularly and have no problem with my stomach ever again.
What Are Metal Coffee Filters? Metal coffee filters are made out of a fine metal mesh and have a hard plastic frame. They work in the same way as a disposable filter. However, unlike disposable coffee filters, metal filters are reusable.

But what is the reason?
What Is the Purpose of Cleaning Coffee Filters?
Why you need to clean metal coffee filters…
To prevent bacteria and molds from growing on coffee filters…
they should be cleaned regularly (often after use)…
Additionally, cleaning also helps remove a film that tends to alter your brew’s flavor…
Coffee filters can be washed in the dishwasher. I recommend you..
clean metal coffee filters by hand to ensure that every crevice and nook is clean….
Moreover, it is far better to clean metal coffee filters by hand…
…rather than using a machine. Especially if you’re a three-cup-a-day…
…coffee drinker (we’ve all been there), reusable filters can get filled with bacteria…
…mold, and coffee gunk. They can harm your body or make you sick…
…and the coffee film that forms on the filter can give your cup…
…of joe an odd taste at the very least.
Many of them are dishwasher safe and should only need deep cleaning…
…every few weeks or even months, depending on how well…
…your maker works and how well you clean the filter.
Whenever you brew, you should throw away the extra grounds…
…and give the filter a good rinse, which keeps it in good condition for days on end.
Follow our simple instructions below to get…
…a deeper how to clean metal coffee filters.
Let’s start form the basic…
Metal Coffee Filters
Compared to paper filters, metal filters produce the opposite outcome…
…when brewing coffee. Because there is no finely woven paper…
…to absorb the oils or catch the microscopic grounds…
…some of these things end up in your mug. You might find it strange…
…that you drink micro-grounds and oils…
…when drinking coffee made with a metal filter.
Let me explain.
Over 800 different natural oils can be found in coffee…
…which makes it one of the most aromatic drinks.
While these oils are barely noticeable texture-wise..
…they contribute a great deal to flavor. There are many flavors…
…that can only exist when coffee oils are present, including blueberry…
…rose, and many other lighter, sweeter flavors.
Micro-grounds thicken your coffee’s mouthfeel, but not in a gross way….
In place of feeling pure and clean, your coffee will just feel heavier…
Although these grounds don’t exactly reduce the acidity of your coffee…
…they do cause your taste buds to not perceive it as as strong, intense, and biting.
It is possible to find micro-ground sediment on the bottom of your mug…
…with metal filters. If you’re not a fan of the texture…
…don’t worry about drinking this layer – it’s completely harmless.
If you take care of metal filters, they can last a lifetime (or two)…
…which means zero paper waste. To clean metal coffee filters isn’t difficult…
but you should try it out for yourself.

Let’s move on…
Are Metal Coffee Filters Safe?
There is not enough fineness in metal filters to filter everything…
…that is poured into them. As a result, some coffee elements can pass through…
…such as micro-fines (which leave sediment at the bottom of the cup)…
…and oils, which increase cholesterol levels. It is specifically LDL (bad cholesterol)…
….that is raised by these substances. NBC News’ Merritt McKinney describes it as…
….”the harmful type of cholesterol.”. In reality, it’s the oils that slip…
…through metal filters that are really to blame. The oils contain a lot of flavor…
…which can alter the taste of the cup, but since they also oxidize quickly…
…the taste can change quite drastically over time.
It is easy for metal filters to absorb micro-fines…
…(tiny granules of coffee that can slip through the holes of the filter).
As a result, the final flavor of the coffee gets a bit darker…
If you prefer a bold and rich cup of coffee, a metal filter is the way to go…
Coffee will settle at the bottom of the cup, leaving a bit of sediment…
…(like French press or Turkish coffee). There’s no denying the fact…
….that metal filters are extremely durable, so they will last for years…
….before corroding from coffee buildup.
Other important thing to note…
What to Avoid When You Clean Metal Coffee Filters
You can clean your reusable filter easily…
…but there are a few things you should avoid.
To clean the filter, don’t use anything abrasive like a metal sponge….
You may be able to remove stains…
…but you’ll probably damage your filter in the process!
You may want to avoid using vinegar if you have a gold-tone filter…
The acidity of the mixture can wear down your filter’s metal…
Sum Up
It is quite easy to clean metal coffee filters….
Your coffee will taste better if you clean metal coffee filters often…
Most of us have seen coffee machines where the permanent baskets…
…look disgusting because they’re never cleaned.
We are not only getting coffee that tastes better…
…but we are also sanitizing and removing bacteria.
