- Remove the water tank and empty it. Fill the tank with descaling solution and fresh water, following the instructions on the descaling solution’s container.
- To enter descale mode, press and hold the 2 cup button while simultaneously holding the power button. As the computer heats up, the power button will begin to blink. When numerous lights turn on and remain steady, you’ll know it’s time to start descaling.
- When the CLEAN / DESCALE indicator is bright and stable, it’s time to descale your Barista Express. If it’s flashing, all you have to do now is run a cleaning cycle. Follow these steps to descaling:
- Remove the water tank and empty it. Fill the tank with descaling solution and fresh water, following the instructions on the descaling solution’s container.
- To enter descale mode, press and hold the 2 cup button while simultaneously holding the power button. As the computer heats up, the power button will begin to blink. When numerous lights turn on and remain steady, you’ll know it’s time to start descaling.
- Remove the water tank and thoroughly rinse it. Fill it up with cold, fresh water all the way to the top. To rinse the machine and remove any residue, repeat steps 3 and 4.
- To stop descaling, press the power button.
- These instructions can also be found on pages 24 and 25 of your user handbook.
How To Descale Breville Barista Pro Espresso Machine
- Remove the machine’s water tank and drip tray and empty them. The water filter should be removed from the tank.
- Fill the reservoir with new water up to the DESCALE line. Toss in your solution, making sure to follow the package’s instructions.
- Reassemble the tank. To catch the water, place a large cup or bowl on the drip tray.
- To access the main menu, press the menu button and then turn the grind amount slider to “DESCALE” in the menu. The 1 CUP button will light up when you press to select.
- To begin descaling, press the 1 CUP button. There are three parts to the process: coffee, hot water, and steam. After each stage, the machine will beep. Keep an eye on the LCD panel since the steam dial must be manually turned to HOT WATER or STEAM when instructed.
- After that, the machine will need to go through a rinse cycle. Remove and discard the drip tray as well as the water collection cup or bowl. Remove any solution from the water tank and only fill it halfway with new water.
