Benefits of salad container
There are several benefits that stem from using a salad container. The first is the ease of use, as it makes prepping salads easier than having them all over the countertop. Another benefit is that they can be used year after year without becoming outdated.
There is also no need for extra dishes since everything will go into one dish. You can even put out condiments such as dressings or sauces on top of the container so everyone knows where things should be placed when eating their meal. With these advantages there is really nothing not to love about salad containers!
What is salad
Salads are one of my favorite foods. They taste great, they look good on me, but most importantly salads can be made ahead of time so you don’t have to worry if your fridge will survive another day.
Benefits of Salad
Salads are much healthier and are usually filled with fresh vegetables which help fill up people who might otherwise feel hungry. Plus, salads are typically cheaper too. So why wouldn’t anyone want to buy salads rather than sandwiches?
What Kind of Salad
As far as what kinds of salads I like best, I’ve found that mixed greens are by far my favorite. This includes spinach, romaine lettuce, arugula, kale, chard, collards, etc. These leaves provide plenty of vitamins and minerals that we often forget to include in our diets. Mixed greens are also extremely easy to grow at home. All you need is an average sized pot and some soil. And once you start growing your own veggies, you won’t even think twice before making yourself a healthy salad now and then.
How to use Salad Bags Ziploc
These containers make life a lot simpler because you won’t have to open up those big Tupperware containers and then close it right away again. The air gets trapped inside and things start going bad faster. So instead, just freeze your containers once they’re full and store them until you want to use them.
Next, fill your container with whatever veggies you plan to add to your salad. In our case we added chopped broccoli florets, red bell pepper slices, cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots, cucumber sticks, sliced radishes, alfalfa sprouts, onion rings, celery stalks, and black olives. You could also add any other vegetables you’d like such as green beans, cauliflower florets, snap peas, etc…
Once you’ve filled your container, place it onto a piece of parchment paper and fold over the top edge to create an airtight seal.
Tips To Using Ziploc As Salad Container
- Make a couple of these salad kits at the start of the week and you’ll always have an easy lunch or fast meal on hand.
- To prevent soggy greens, place a folded paper towel inside the Ziploc bag containing cleaned, dried, and cut lettuce.
- Ziploc bags are ideal for separating crispy and crunchy items from fresh and juicy ones. To the Ziploc brand bag of greens, add pre-portioned toppings.
- Naturally, dressing on the side. Toss in a Ziploc bag with your preferred salad dressing and shake well immediately before assembling your salad. Create a salad that is uniquely yours by adding your favorite ingredients. From the traditional Caesar salad to kale and quinoa, these suggestions are readily adaptable to your own preferences!
