What’s the difference between electric skillets and regular ovens?

If you think about it, your electric skillet has more features than any other household appliance. You can bake pizza crusts, fry fish, make omelettes, steam vegetables, or cook meat and poultry without having to turn on your oven. Electric skillets usually have higher wattage ratings than conventional ovens.

The reason is simple they’re designed to be used primarily for heating foods rather than baking them. This means that the amount of energy needed to maintain the desired temperature isn’t as great as when using a standard oven.

Most models come equipped with automatic settings, but you might find some manual controls as well. Some models can hold their temperature steady for up to 12 hours while others have variable settings that let you adjust the duration of each cycle.

What’s Required

  • Dish soap is used to make a warm, sudsy solution.
  • A non-scratch pad to clean your surfaces
  • A squishy fabric
  • Soup rags made of paper

Clean electric skillet by following these simple steps:

Remove the Skillet’s power cord

The first step is to disconnect the electric socket from the skillet’s connector. If you must clean while holding the connector, make sure you keep it a safe distance away from your body to avoid getting it wet.

Remove Solid Food Detritus from the Cooking Surface

Next, use a soft moist towel to remove any solid food residue. The non-stick surface of an electric frying pan can quickly be damaged and ruined if you use a metal pan scourer.

Clean the Pan’s Interior

Use warm soapy water and a non-scratch cleaning pad to remove any residual food particles from the inside of your electric skillet. To avoid damaging the non-stick surface, use the pad to gently scrub the surface.

Remove all stains by rubbing the pan’s interior with mild circular strokes.

Using a paper towel, wipe off the interior of the pan with warm soapy water until you are satisfied that it is clean.

Clean the Pan’s Exterior

It’s time to wipe down the pan’s exterior once you’re satisfied with the inside. With a non-scratch cleaning pad, gently wipe the outside of the pan with warm soapy water and then dry with a towel. Do this with extreme care to prevent water from getting into the connector point, which could lead to permanent damage to your skillet.

Make sure the Connector is clean

Using a little moist cloth, wipe down the outside of the electrical connector with extreme care. Make sure there is no grease on it by following these instructions! Use a toothpick if any food debris has gotten into the connector and needs to be removed very delicately.
