What’s pineapple juice good for? Pineapple juice…

…is a well-known tropical drink. It is produced from pineapple fruit, which is indigenous to South America, and crops are cultivated in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Kenya, India, China, and the Philippines. In fact, there are over 5 million tons of fresh pineapples produced every year. The taste can vary depending on where they grow but most people agree that you have to drink at least 2 cups per day if not more!

History of Pineapple Juice

Pineapple Juice was first created by accident. Dr Chas A Bailey invented this delicious healthy drink while he was working as an army doctor during WW2. He discovered that when some soldiers had their stomach pumped out after eating too much food or drinking alcohol, one of the things left behind were lots of digestive enzymes. So he mixed these enzymes with water and called his new concoction “pina colada cocktail” because the name sounded so exotic. After World War II ended, Dr Bailey started selling this product under the brand name “Dr Bailey’s Pina Coladas”. Today we know this drink as pineapple juice.

And with all those benefits we will show you why this sweet treat has become so popular around the world. So let’s get started:

Lower Blood Sugar Levels

One study showed that drinking 1-2 glasses of pineapple juice daily may help lower blood sugar levels as well as insulin resistance. This means your body would be able to better use glucose or sugar for energy instead of storing fat cells. Another similar study found that participants who drank 3-4 cups of pineapple juice had significantly reduced fasting blood sugars compared to other groups.

Help With Digestion

Another benefit of pineapple juice is its ability to promote digestion by helping break down fats. One study even found that eating just half an ounce of pineapple before meals improved digestive function by increasing bile production. Bile helps digest foods while also neutralizing toxins. Eating food rich in fiber can increase stool volume, making them easier to pass through our bodies. Drinking pineapple juice increases both water content and bulk in stools, allowing them to move easily through our system without causing any discomfort.

Reduce Inflammation

A final reason many people enjoy pineapple juice is because of how effective it is in reducing inflammation. High fructose corn syrup, commonly used in soft drinks today, contains high amounts of inflammatory compounds called advanced glycation end products. These chemicals cause cell damage, resulting in chronic diseases such as arthritis, heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s Disease and cancer. But when you add pineapple juice into your diet, it reduces these harmful effects since it does not contain HFCS.

Boost Immune System Function

In addition to being anti-inflammatory, pineapple juice is full of antioxidants and vitamin C. Antioxidants protect against free radical damage and prevent oxidation reactions within the human body. Vitamin C aids immune health by strengthening white blood cells and boosting antibody activity. If you want to boost immunity naturally, try adding some raw garlic cloves into your juice. Garlic boosts circulation and improves lymphatic drainage, promoting detoxification throughout the entire body.

Improve Skin Health

The last major benefit of pineapple juice comes from its phytonutrients. Phytonutrients are plant nutrients that provide numerous health benefits including antioxidant properties. They help reduce signs of aging and improve skin elasticity. A recent study published in “Nutrition & Metabolism” reported that taking 100 mg of bioflavonoids each day helped diminish wrinkles and fine lines. When combined with vitamin E, another powerful antioxidant, these two ingredients were shown to dramatically slow down wrinkle formation. Other studies suggest that consuming 500 milligrams of flavonoid supplements daily can reduce sunburn risk.

Promote Weight Loss

If you’re looking to lose weight fast then one way to do so is to consume pineapple juice regularly. Studies report that replacing sugary beverages with pineapple juice leads to faster results than simply cutting out sodas altogether. You should only replace soda with pineapple juice though.
